Permatex® Thread Sealant with PTFE (P/N 80633 / 14D) is a high-performance pipe thread sealant formulated to seal threaded pipe connections in pneumatic, hydraulic, and fluid-handling systems. Supplied as a smooth white paste containing PTFE, the sealant provides reliable sealing performance while lubricating threads to enable easy assembly and disassembly of fittings.
The formulation fills voids between mating threads to create a durable seal that prevents leakage and loosening in pressurized systems. Unlike PTFE thread sealing tapes, the paste formulation will not tear, shred, or unravel during installation, ensuring consistent sealing performance across threaded pipe assemblies.
Permatex Thread Sealant with PTFE is designed to withstand pressures up to 5000 psi and maintains sealing performance across a wide operating temperature range. The sealant remains pliable after curing, allowing adjustments to threaded assemblies without compromising seal integrity.
The product also acts as a thread lubricant, reducing friction during installation while preventing galling and corrosion between metal components. This makes it suitable for repeated service and maintenance operations where threaded fittings must be removed and reassembled.
