DOWSIL™ 736 Heat Resistant Sealant is a one-part, non-slumping RTV silicone sealant designed for high-temperature sealing and bonding applications in industrial and mechanical environments. The sealant cures at room temperature when exposed to atmospheric moisture, forming a flexible rubber seal capable of withstanding prolonged exposure to elevated temperatures.
The material is engineered to maintain reliable sealing performance in equipment operating under continuous temperatures up to 260°C and intermittent exposure up to 315°C. Its non-sag paste consistency allows easy application on vertical surfaces, overhead installations, and complex joint geometries without running or dripping during installation.
DOWSIL 736 provides strong adhesion to many metals, glass, and engineering materials, making it suitable for sealing joints and protecting components exposed to extreme heat and mechanical stress. Once cured, the sealant forms a durable elastomeric bond that resists cracking, shrinkage, and degradation caused by thermal cycling.
Typical applications include sealing heating elements in appliances, aerospace gasketing, industrial ovens, furnace equipment, moving oven belts, and filtration equipment such as bag filters in smokestack systems. The sealant can also be used for encapsulating high-temperature components and creating protective coatings in demanding industrial environments.
