Product Information
MOLYKOTE® G-n Metal Assembly Paste is a high-performance extreme pressure lubricant formulated for assembly operations, press fitting, threaded connections, and running-in lubrication of metal components. The paste contains solid lubricants dispersed in mineral oil, creating a durable lubricating film capable of protecting metal surfaces exposed to high loads and boundary lubrication conditions.
The lubricant provides excellent protection against fretting wear and corrosion while reducing friction and preventing galling, seizure, and surface damage during assembly or initial operation. Its low coefficient of friction allows more efficient conversion of tightening torque into clamping force, resulting in more consistent bolt tension and easier disassembly of threaded fasteners during maintenance.
MOLYKOTE G-n Metal Assembly Paste is commonly used as a running-in lubricant for gears, splines, cams, journal bearings, and machine ways in new or rebuilt equipment. It is also widely used in metalworking processes including stamping, drawing, thread rolling, tube bending, swaging, and forging, where it helps prevent metal pickup and tool damage.
The paste is also suitable for press-fit assembly operations where it reduces interference fitting forces and minimizes distortion or stick-slip during installation. The aerosol version provides the same lubrication properties in spray form for easier application in difficult-to-reach areas.
MOLYKOTE G-n Metal Assembly Paste is widely used in heavy machinery assembly, industrial maintenance, metal fabrication, and equipment manufacturing where reliable extreme-pressure lubrication and anti-seize protection are required.
