Product Information
MOLYKOTE® D-321 R Anti-Friction Coating is a high-performance dry-film lubricant formulated for metal-to-metal contact surfaces operating under high loads, slow to medium speeds, and extreme temperatures. The coating forms a durable, low-friction solid lubricant layer that reduces wear, prevents stick-slip motion, and improves running-in performance of mechanical components.
This air-curing coating contains solid lubricants dispersed in a solvent-based binder system, allowing easy application by brushing or spraying. After application, the coating dries quickly to form a uniform gray-black lubricating film with excellent adhesion to properly prepared metal surfaces. Surface preparation such as degreasing, phosphating, or sandblasting improves coating adhesion and extends service life.
MOLYKOTE D-321 R is widely used in industrial equipment, mechanical assemblies, and electrical components where conventional greases or oils are unsuitable. The coating provides reliable boundary lubrication under vacuum environments, high loads, and wide temperature ranges. Typical industrial applications include plain bearings, bushings, sliding guides, threaded fasteners, power screw drives, and high-voltage switch components.
The aerosol version enables easy application on difficult-to-reach areas and is often used for emergency boundary lubrication, chain lubrication, or as a multi-purpose penetrant. Once cured, the coating provides a long-lasting lubricating film that minimizes friction and extends component service life in demanding operating environments.
