MOLYKOTE® G-4500 and G-4501 FM Multi-Purpose Synthetic Greases are high-performance food-grade lubricants designed for industrial machinery operating in food processing and packaging environments. These white synthetic greases are formulated with PAO synthetic base oil, aluminum complex thickener, and PTFE solid lubricants to deliver enhanced load-carrying capacity, wear resistance, and long lubrication life compared to conventional petroleum-based greases.
These lubricants meet FDA Regulation 21 CFR 178.3570 and USDA H1 classifications, making them suitable for applications where incidental food contact may occur. The greases are compatible with many plastics and elastomers, allowing use in diverse mechanical assemblies within food production equipment.
MOLYKOTE G-4500 and G-4501 FM offer a wide service temperature range and excellent low-temperature torque performance, ensuring reliable lubrication under varying operating conditions. The synthetic formulation provides improved oxidation stability, reduced oil evaporation, and extended service intervals in demanding industrial environments.
The greases are commonly used for lubrication of rolling element and plain bearings, gears, splines, drive screws, cams, pivot pins, guides, and sliding mechanisms in food processing machinery. G-4500 FM is available in NLGI grade 2 and also as a spray lubricant, while G-4501 FM is a lower-consistency NLGI grade 1 grease suitable for automatic dispensing systems.
