Product Information
Permatex® Aviation Form-A-Gasket® No. 3 Sealant (P/N 80017 / 3D) is a professional-grade liquid gasket dressing designed to seal close-tolerance mechanical assemblies in automotive, industrial, marine, and aviation equipment. The product is supplied as a dark reddish-brown viscous liquid that cures through solvent evaporation to form a pliable, tacky sealing film that improves gasket reliability and prevents leakage in precision-machined assemblies.
The slow-drying formulation provides extended assembly time, allowing technicians to position components accurately before the sealant develops its final sealing properties. Once cured, the sealant remains flexible, maintaining sealing integrity during vibration, thermal expansion, and mechanical movement.
Permatex Aviation Form-A-Gasket No.3 is specifically designed for close-fitting flanges and machined surfaces where traditional gasket materials may not provide sufficient sealing. It is commonly used as a gasket dressing or sealing compound for threaded connections, flange surfaces, and precision engine components.
Typical industrial applications include aviation engines, marine engines, threaded fittings, and solid gasket installations used in maintenance, repair, and OEM assembly operations.
The sealant provides excellent resistance to water, gasoline, motor oil, transmission fluid, ethylene glycol coolant, and marine environments, making it suitable for demanding mechanical systems exposed to automotive fluids and temperature variations.
Permatex Aviation Form-A-Gasket No.3 Sealant is widely used by aircraft maintenance engineers, automotive technicians, marine mechanics, industrial equipment manufacturers, and mechanical service technicians requiring a reliable liquid gasket dressing for precision assemblies.
