Product Information
Permatex® Belt Dressing & Conditioner (P/N 80073 / 120DA) is a high-performance aerosol belt treatment designed to improve traction, eliminate belt squeal, and restore flexibility in industrial and automotive belt drive systems. The specialized rubber-based formulation penetrates belt cord fibers, restoring pliability and conditioning worn belts to improve grip and power transfer efficiency.
This belt dressing is widely used in preventive maintenance programs to reduce belt slippage caused by heat, moisture, dust, glazing, or environmental exposure. By enhancing friction between the belt and pulley surfaces, it increases pulling power and reduces energy loss in belt-driven mechanical systems.
The conditioner remains soft and flexible after application, preventing belt hardening or glazing that can lead to premature belt failure. Its aerosol spray delivery provides uniform coating and easy access to difficult areas using the included extension tube. The quick-application formula allows maintenance technicians to treat belts while equipment is operating, enabling rapid conditioning and minimal downtime.
Permatex Belt Dressing & Conditioner is suitable for V-belts and flat belts made of rubber, leather, or fabric materials used in automotive engines, agricultural equipment, industrial machinery, and mechanical power transmission systems.
Maintenance engineers, mechanics, and equipment operators use this product to restore belt performance, reduce noise, improve belt traction, and extend operational life in demanding mechanical drive applications.
Note: Not recommended for serpentine belt systems.
